The flat gate valve is a sliding valve whose gate is a parallel gate. The shutter can be a single shutter plate or a double shutter plate with a deployment mechanism in between.
The push force of the gate to the valve seat is controlled by the pressure of the medium acting on the floating gate or floating valve seat. If the flat gate valve is a dual shutter flat gate valve, the spreading mechanism seen in the two shutters can compensate for this pressure.
